If you live in a community such as the apartments of The Greens, you won’t be allowed to barbecue on your balcony for obvious reasons. However, the area will most likely have designated areas where you can get your fix. This goes for several other high-rise apartment buildings as well, with the properties in JBR having access to public BBQ areas as well.

Probably one of the more stylish barbecue venues in Dubai, the BBQ Donut at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is the only aquatic cooking experience in the city. It’s basically a doughnut-shaped boat with a grill in the middle of it (and a cooler packed with food from a set menu, including vegetarian options). Each ‘meal’ is about an hour-long, with the possibility to extend your sailing time if you fancy it. This may not be the most rustic of public barbecues, but it’s a fantastic way to celebrate a special occasion or impress visitors!

If the weather still isn’t quite up to your liking, AB’s Absolute Barbecues is our favorite place to head for an indoor barbecue (yes, you read that right). The tables in this restaurant come equipped with their own grills, so you can grill your own starters from a wide selection of meat and seafood, from across the globe – North India to Brazil. The restaurant in Media City also has a Mongolian Tawa grill, where you can choose your favorite meat, fish or veg and have the professional chefs cook them to your taste.

From indoors to out, land to sea, there are all sorts of BBQ spots across the city…just remember to always be responsible and clean up after yourself!
